This is a cool product. Sun Mountain, the company that brings us all of our lightweight golf bags, has come up with an alternative to those clumsy, heavy travel cases. This is one of those products that when you look at it, you're going to ask "Why didn't they come up with this sooner?"
The ClubGlider Meridian Golf Travel Cover uses thick foam padding to protect your golf clubs as opposed to the typical hard plastic. The zippers are heavy duty and two-way for durability and convenience of packing. There are two large storage pockets.
Besides the lightweight design, there are two things I really like about this bag:
1) The extra care they put into the durable design. This bag is built to be with you for a long time, despite the abuse from those luggage handlers. All the straps are riveted to the bag with reinforced vinyl in the heavy wear areas.
2) The bag has pivoting caster wheels that fold out and roll, but what's more is they support the bag and keep it upright. This eliminates the constant bending over I do every time I put down and pick up my travel case. Once you get it to the sky cab, simply retract these legs into a molded tray, and it's ready to hit the airline conveyor belt.
Thanks to Sun Mountain for great design that is going to save our backs from much abuse. I just don't know why the heck I didn't think of this?
