Titleist Tour Prestige Golf Balls These Titleist Tour Prestige Golf Balls are "fair to midlin'," as my grandpappy used to say. I'm pretty sure that means average.

These balls are a few years old. This is a softer ball when compared with your typical distance balls like your Pinnacles and your Top Flites. It has low compression, and the center is liquid. This design is "old school," as most of our golf balls today are multi-piece with a solid core.

I would say this is the poor man's Pro V1. The Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x are Titleist's premier ball that provides an ample combination of distance and feel. I always recommend the Pro V1x as it's a little longer than the Pro V1 and holds in the wind better.

This Titleist Tour Prestige is like MLB home-run hitter Mark McGwire before he got on steroids. It's still a good ball, but the Pro V1x is "on the juice." I would recommend this ball if you are a mid-handicapper with a slower swing speed (or on a budget). You will appreciate the soft feel of the Tour Prestige around the green, but you will not get the same distance you would with the Pro V1x.

Like my grandfather said, it is fair to midlin' -- or to borrow another one of his favorite sayings, "It'll work."
