Odyssey White Hot Putter Odyssey has a putter for everyone. No, this is not a commercial. I do not get paid to sell Odyssey putters. (I wish I did.) They just make a great product.

This particular putter is from the White Hot series. This is the same series that winner of the 2009 PGA Championship, Y.E. Yang plays with. It's a heel-shafted, mallet-style putter.

Those of you that are familiar with the latest in golf ball technology will know that all the rage is multi-layer designs. Odyssey is using the same technology in their putters. This Odyssey White Hot XG insert is constructed of a soft elastomer and a thin outer striking surface infused with urethane. This gives the putter a very soft feel. What's more is, the insert provides weight to be moved to the perimeter, giving the putter a higher MOI (the other rage in golf technology).

I like two things especially about this putter. First, the mallet is smaller than your typical mallet. I like this because those big oversized mallets are ugly, and don't give me much feel. Secondly, I love the lines on the putter head. Most mallets do not have good alignment aids. This putter has three lines that make it extremely easy to line up the putter square to the target and stroke it through square.

The only thing I don't like about this putter is the head shape. It's not my favorite style. I prefer the Odyssey White Hot XG Marxman Mini Putter. Take a look at this one. It's the more traditional half-moon shape, and also has the great alignment aids.

Whichever one you choose, you're going to like it. I'll continue to say it, even if Odyssey isn't paying me.
