I'm drooling now. Sorry. This is a problem I have when I look at a stunning putter.
The Odyssey Black Series i #6 is a tour-quality putter. As blades go, it doesn't really get much better than this. Where do I start?
Looking down at the putter head at address, it looks incredible. The nickel plated finish is aesthetically pleasing on the scoop-back blade with slant-neck hosel and a half-shaft offset. It has just a simple black dot for alignment. The precision-milled 1026 carbon steel body creates a nice balanced weighting.
Of course, what sets Odyssey putters apart from all others are their multilayer inserts. The insert in this Black Series i-6 is the same construction as the original Black series putters, but now utilizes the multilayer Tour insert. This insert is slightly firmer than that of the White Hot XG for better feedback and a fine-tuned responsiveness.
Finally, the weight of the club is pulled back in the flange, giving the putter a high MOI which provides for more stability.
I would recommend this putter for advanced players who can really appreciate the tour-quality weighting and the responsive Tour insert.
This is one of those clubs that I would just buy and keep it in my living room. Why would I risk taking it out on the course and getting it dirty? Did I mention I was drooling?
