Do you dip your big toe in the shallow end of the pool, or do you just dive right into the deep end? I'm pretty sure Odyssey designed this putter for guys like me: "Toe-Dippers."
This putter is a hybrid of a blade putter and a 2-ball putter. In other words, it's a 2-ball putter with the wings shaved off.
Let me give you the specs on this interesting-looking putter. This putter is from Odyssey's White Hot XG line. The White Hot XG features a multilayer insert with soft elastomer for feel and a truer roll, and a thin outer striking surface infused with urethane.
The 2-ball design is engineered to give the club a huge MOI while giving you a spot-on alignment aid. Just line up your golf ball with the two balls and take a smooth stroke.
Although I'm a blade guy, I'm not a big fan of this hybrid. In the case of the 2-ball putters, I say dive right in. This particular putter looks they shipped out one of the prototypes before they put in the finishing touches.
I like the 2-ballers, especially for those of you struggling with those short putts. Try the 2-ballers, but with a couple of modifications. Get the one with the lines drawn for alignment: the Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball SRT Lined Putter. It also incorporates the Saturn Ring Technology (SRT) Technology which gives it a very high MOI.
I like having the best of both worlds, and with the lined 2-ball putter you get two great alignment aids which make this putter a sharp shooting machine.
Go ahead, dive in. The water is fine.
