I used to make fun of them (past tense) because I do the same thing. I get the time and the cash in hand, and baby, you can’t keep me away from the course. No matter what. I have been known to play golf in thick fog and snow -- just to be out there. Guess what? If I had the right gear, it actually would have been more enjoyable.

Let me give you some highlights of how this hat is specifically designed for ladies. For one, it's very lightweight, made with a soft mesh fabric. This is a cool gift for the junior lady golfer in your life. Evidently, pink is the "in" color these days, thanks to the fashionable ladies on the LPGA Tour. If your daughter is a fan, she will certainly like this pink backpack, tee shirt, and matching hat.

I have to wear glasses. It didn't start until later in life. Some of you know how it is. Others don't.

Some of you are like me and have to decide how you are going to shade your delicate pupils from the harmful UV rays while on the course. Do I look like a goober and actually try clip-ons? Do I risk getting the glasses that automatically change in the sunlight, but don't really go back to normal indoors -- forcing me to look like Roy Orbison? Or do I shuck the glasses and try to play it cool by wearing standard sunglasses that aren't prescription?

No. I can't do that. That's how I end up hitting a four iron about seventy yards past the green because it looked like a blurry seven.

So here's my review for all you punks out there that can wear cool sunglasses. Nike FURI's. They're cool. They're red. They're light. They have a vented nose piece so you don't fog up under pressure or have them slip down your nose -- forcing you to push them up like the rest of us nerds.

Before I continue, remember that these reviews can be very personal and opinionated. This is just one of those reviews. I simply cannot stand the tilted display on some of these watches that Nike made famous. Therefore, when I saw the Nike Triax Speed 100 watch -- I disliked it from the start.

Granted, the time is very easy to read with its large display, and it has quite a number of functions -- especially for runners -- such as lap times, 100-lap chronographs, and five different interval timers for customizable trainings or workouts. It's water resistant and has 2 alarms on it.

But I can't get away from how much that slanted display bugs me. I also tend to dislike the "sport watch feel" that many of the rubber watches have. This one was also pink and black, which...well... just didn't go with my shoes.

Sorry, Nike -- not for me. Instead, go with this Callaway Men's Watch, which looks and feels much better and has a normal vertical display.

My girlfriend really had no interest in golf until she realized it would give her an excuse to go out and buy some cute clothes. "Sure honey, I'd love to go golfing," she exclaims, "Hmm... What should I wear?!"

Her favorite apparel on a warm day is skorts. (Me, I've always detested skorts. This is the biggest fraud perpetuated on man since the Wonderbra and should be outlawed, but that's another blog.)

I bought her the Tehama Skort in plaid. I like it because she looks hot in it. She likes it because it's fashionable and comfortable. The gray plaid pattern goes with most of her golf tops in her golf wardrobe.

I asked her what she liked about them. She said the venting in the front gives her plenty of range of moment, while the "shorties" underneath provide good coverage. As for the cons, she said she prefers to have more pockets when she's playing golf to hold her tees, ball markers, score card, etc.

Golf fashion is big, and it is drawing even more people to our wonderful sport. I'm seeing more and more women out on the links and they are doing it in style. I can only pray that the time never comes when my girlfriend is playing as good as she looks.
