Callaway Lob Wedge Iron Club This looks like a splendid addition to your X-22 irons. Let me guess: you left your old lob wedge out on the green during your last round of golf? That was a bonehead mistake! I suppose you already called the course ten times and nobody has turned it in. I know -- it happens to everybody. Let's just wish whoever made off with your lob wedge can't hit the broad side of a barn door with it.

I'm sure you already know, but just to review... The following is what makes the X-22s so sweeeeeeet:

"Precision Notch Weighting" means they've moved all the weight to the perimeter, giving the club a high MOI while providing more forgiveness and stability. "S2H2" means they've actually removed weight from the hosel to be used elsewhere. Finally, "Modified Tru-Bore" means that the shaft tip extends through the hosel and club head to the sole of the iron. This improves feel because the tip of the shaft is closer to the center of the clubface.

This is a forgiving perimeter-weighted club, but you don't have to buy a wedge that matches your set. Cavity backs are fine for swinging those irons from the fairway, but for a more responsive feel around the green, you might want to try a forged wedge, especially if your game is improving and you are getting more consistent.

Take a look at the Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can Wedge and the Cleveland 900 Form Forged Wedge. These are a couple of beautiful forged-blade wedges.

Try one of these wedges and you won't be disappointed. Just think losing your lob wedge might have been the best thing that ever happened to your golf game.
