I love me a blade putter, and this is a beautiful specimen. It's Wilson's Staff 8861. This is the classic blade design and is Wilson's celebration of the old 8802. The 8802 (for you non-golf nerds) dates back to 1964 and was made famous by Arnold Palmer and later Ben Crenshaw. Wilson has updated it by using anodized aluminum and a milled face.
Just think of what Crenshaw could've accomplished today with this beautiful tool. The best update is the soft yet responsive insert. This insert is made of TPU Urethane. Urethane is that cool-feeling material that most of your high-end golf balls are made of. When you stroke a putt with this putter, the balls rolls (instead of jumping) off of the face. Good putters will really appreciate the feel and balance of this putter.
If you are not sold on this putter and want to look at something similar, I would recommend the Odyssey White Hot Tour #1 Putter. This putter is very similar to the Wilson but more of a tour-quality putter. The Odyssey will cost you a little more, but you are getting a better bang for your buck with this custom tour design.
