The Wilson Sandy Andy Sand Wedge is a quality, inexpensive golf club that, while not boasting a huge variety of features or technological innovations, serves its purpose and is a good buy for golf novices.
The main difference you will notice with the Sandy Andy is the oversized club face, not something seen often in the world of Sand Wedges. This makes the tricky feat of escaping bunkers a little bit easier, for golfers who are still working on that aspect of the game. Just don't forget to rake!
The worst thing about this club is also the best thing about it: it is cheap. It comes with a True Temper steel shaft, a stock grip, and a 57-degree club face. If you want to change any of that, it will likely cost as much (if not more) than the club itself, and you may as well just buy a customizable club. This is why I feel like intermediate and more advanced golfers will want to upgrade to a Sand Wedge that will suit their particular needs as a golfer specifically, rather than the Sandy Andy.
If you've been using a pitching wedge (or God forbid a 9 iron) to get out of bunkers, the Sandy Andy could be exactly what you're looking for. While not costing a fortune, it provides the quality novice golfers will need to get used to the feel of a Sand Wedge. In the end, this is not a purchase you will end up regretting.
