True Temper is the brand that has been bringing you steel shafts for almost a hundred years. The company that would become True Temper invented the steel shaft in the 1920s. It was a huge change from the old hickory shafts of the Brassie and the Mashie. The wristy golf swing of the past became a powerful body swing.
The standard shaft is the number one brand on the PGA Tour, and the change to SL came about in an effort to compete with graphite shafts for distance. True Temper Dynnalite Gold SL is 20% lighter. They are around 105 grams, cut. This equates to faster swing speeds, which (we all know) accounts for more distance.
So why not just go to graphite? Well, graphite doesn't have the same control and feedback of steel. (Although these Aero-Techs come close.) With these SLs, you still get the same solid feel and consistency but in a much lighter club. You can even go lighter if you want. Try the GS 75 -- its only 75 grams!
This Dynalite shaft still has the same low controlling trajectory that you are accustomed to in the standard True Temper shafts. Try them in the Sensicore shafts for 70% more of a dampened feel.
