From driver to 3 wood to this hybrid, they are all very square-shaped. The whole idea is to make the clubs more aerodynamic for faster swing speeds. I think this makes more sense with the big 460cc driver, but I'm not really sure how it applies to this small hybrid.

One thing I will give it: the club is stable. If you combine the large square shape with an extreme perimeter weighting, then you get a club that won't twist even if you put it in a blender. (I'm not really sure what that means, but it sounds funny.)

In addition to the stable clubhead, it has a very hot face due to the 455 stainless steel face.

I recommend this hybrid to mid to high handicappers that are looking for a forgiving golf club that will hit the ball long and far from any lie.

If you are looking for a hybrid that is a little more controllable and not so big, I recommend the Titleist 909 H Hybrid and the Mizuno MP CLK Hybrid.

The ball is a game-improving golf ball with a soft feel and a low spin to dampen some of that slice (or hook) spin and fly straight to your target.

This is a two-piece ball with an 80 compression and a whopping 408 dimples. These 408 dimples are designed to lessen the drag on the ball. This, combined with a perimeter weighting, gives the ball its long distance. The cover is made with a slick non-stick Surlyn, which is designed to reduce sidespin. And the low compression core and soft mantle give the ball its soft feel. However, it is certainly not as soft as a Pro V1x.

This is one of those balls that I recommend for the high handicappers all the time and the lower handicappers in the wintertime. I like to play a two-piece ball in the windy, cold winters. This ball holds well in the wind. Plus, I don't need a high-spin, three-piece ball to hold the wet soggy green, as any high shot will stick like a dart.

Another good two-piece ball that I play in the winter is the Nike Juice. It is very similar with a slightly lower compression.

These are Tommy Armour's Silver Scot Forged Cavity Backs, and they are a great-looking set of golf clubs.

Let's start with the faces. They have a forged cavity back design. The perimeter weighting gives you some forgiveness while the forged clubhead provides a good feel. What's more, the irons having a curved topline throughout the set which gives you more forgiveness for those mishits high on the face. And the faces are not huge and oversized, thus you have the ability to work the ball.

I would recommend these golf clubs to low to mid-range handicappers. As I mentioned, they are forgiving but still take some ball striking consistency to really appreciate the feel and workability of the forged faces.

My favorite thing about the set are the rifle shafts. They come with Precision Rifle Shafts that are frequency matched for each club and they are "flighted" which gives you different trajectories for each iron, thus giving you easier swinging long irons and spot-on short irons.

The one drawback to this set is the grips are too thin. I would have the set re-gripped as soon as I got them out of the box. But don't fret the extra money having them re-gripped, because these clubs are absolute steel.

The Tour i is a tour quality golf ball. (Okay you could've figured that out by the name.) The ball is four pieces with a dual core. The inner and outer cores work together. The soft inner core (for feel) is counter-balanced with a tungsten infused outer core and a dense mantle layer. This moves most of the ball's weight away from the center of the ball which results in a perimeter weighting that reduces spin when hit with a mighty wack with The Big Dog (your driver).

The cover is a very soft (but durable) thermoset urethane. All of the high-end golf balls today are made with urethane, and the dimple pattern is a unique hexagonal pattern designed to lesson drag and give you more distance.

It's going to be hard to find a golf ball around that is more technologically advanced. More engineering went into this golf ball then the car you are currently driving. I've heard nothing but good things about this golf ball, and one of my friends told me he hits it further than the Pro V1X. Give it a try.

I'm sure you already know, but just to review... The following is what makes the X-22s so sweeeeeeet:

This is a forgiving perimeter-weighted club, but you don't have to buy a wedge that matches your set. Cavity backs are fine for swinging those irons from the fairway, but for a more responsive feel around the green, you might want to try a forged wedge, especially if your game is improving and you are getting more consistent.

Take a look at the Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can Wedge and the Cleveland 900 Form Forged Wedge. These are a couple of beautiful forged-blade wedges.

Try one of these wedges and you won't be disappointed. Just think losing your lob wedge might have been the best thing that ever happened to your golf game.

This one is the Nickent Pipe Putter with a Flare Tip Blade.

This putter interested me because I'm a big fan of the blade style putter, but I will occasionally switch to the mallet style. It looks like Nickent tried to meet me halfway. Hey thanks, Nickent.

PIPE actually stands for Putting Inline Performance Enhancement. This is "a USGA conforming technology that combines three-dimensional capabilities with the most extreme perimeter weighted putter allowed by physics to deliver a club that allows the ball to roll true, straight, and directly where you've aimed." Well, la-tee-dah!

I guess it's actually supposed to be a double meaning, as the "pipe" looking thing affixed to the back end of the blade is also supposed to help you line up your putts.

I like this putter because the pipe section is small and I can still get the feel a blade style putter, but with some of the advantages of a mallet like the high MOI. The three-dimensional pipe on the back is easy to line up directly on the golf ball and stroke through square.

My only beef is: as usual, when club makers give you a "mallet type" putter, they always scrap the line on top. I would still like a line or a dot on top for an additional alignment aid. Is this too much to ask?

Okay, bring on the next putter. I'm ready.

That's the ol' geezer that took Tiger Woods to an 18-hole playoff in the US Open in 2008, and even after that, Tiger needed an additional hole to finally fend him off.

I took a look in Rocco's bag and he's playing these Callaway X-22s irons. This is a pretty snazzy club with all the latest and greatest technology that you've come to expect in a Callaway golf club.

Let's dig into it, shall we?

"S2H2" means they've actually removed weight from the hosel to be used elsewhere. There's not too much that I don't like about this club. It is designed for the better player, as the face is smaller than those huge oversized irons that Callaway makes for the higher handicapper. The shape of the head has a thinner topline and narrower sole, thus it looks more like a tour player's club.

That being said, I would suggest before you buy these clubs that you take a gander at the Callaway FT iron set. I like the looks of these clubs even better, and I believe the performance will be even greater.

Just don't tell Rocco that I said that, but just think: maybe if he was wielding the FTs he would have beat Tiger in The Open.
