How do you feel about your short game? You know, when the ball is 50 yards out or so, and it's now up to you to find that simple little way to pop that ball either up and over the bunker to the green, or to run it up the front of the green and toward the pin...
...or let's face it. To hack our way out of that thick grass on the backside of the green when we ran over it the first time.
If you're like me, you could definitely use some help from 50 yards in. Phil Mickelson is here to help with his "Short Game Secrets" DVD training. Now don't get me wrong, I bet this is a great DVD.
I bet that Mickelson is just as charismatic as usual, and peppers his training with character and good teaching. I even read that, because his methods are fairly unique, it has been hailed as controversial in the training video realm.
Maybe it's just me, but watching a lefty swing just plain looks weird.
I honestly don't know if I could learn from it. I can't duplicate it! I can't really bring it home for me. I'm not sure if I'll ever use his "backward, over the head shot," and no one can really hit the flop shot like Phil does.
But I say again: Watching a lefty swing just plain looks weird.
If you can watch and then duplicate, only mirrored, than you are better than I.
I just can't do it.
