This is very similar to the putter Rory Sabatini used to win at the 2011 Honda Classic in Palm Gardens, Florida. Rory played amazing golf in howling winds that made a lot of the touring pros look like amateurs. And of course, he putted absolutely remarkable under pressure. Let's take a look at this mallet putter.
The first thing that jumps out at you is the color. White is the new trend this year in both drivers and putters. The idea is all about alignment. The contrast of the white against the green grass gives you a distinct visual so you can tell if your putter is open or closed.
Speaking of alignment, the best thing about this putter is the three big straight lines on top of the mallet. I've been bitching since those Odyssey two-ball mallet putters came out (that started this mallet craze) how important it is to have at least one line to help you get square to your target line. (The first 2-ball putters didn't.) I give a big kudos for TaylorMade for putting three very large and distinct lines on this putter.
Bottom line, folks: You got to go to the mallet putters unless you are a die-hard feel player that can't give up your blade. These putters will take strokes off of your game. The larger heads are more forgiving and give you more consistency and confidence under pressure.
