If Indiana Jones lived in Seattle, this would be his hat of choice. It has been tested in the Northwest, where I can confirm we get some crazy downpours. This bad boy should be in every golfers' golf bag that lives in a rainy area.
This hat comes with a "Guaranteed To Keep You Dry" certification and was Backpacker Magazine's 2005 Editor's Choice Gold Award winner. The shell is waterproof and breathable, made with a 3-layer 70D Taslan GORE-TEX fabric crown, and the seams are taped. The inside is a brushed tricot lining which is soft and wicks away perspiration. The brim is foam-stiffened and is specially shaped to direct water away from you melon. What's more is the foam makes the hat float, so don't worry about falling in the lake while searching for your lost golf ball.
My favorite thing about the hat is the brim. Not only does it direct the water away from you head, but there are also hook/loop tabs on the brim and dome that allow you to flip up the sides for greater visibility.
The hat is very comfortable and lightweight and cinches to your head with an adjustable elastic band and a removable chin cord. However, I'm pretty sure Indiana would never wear it with the chin chord attached!
