Here's an interesting-looking putter from Nike. (Those of you who read me frequently have figured out when I say "interesting," it's always my euphemism for "ugly.") Let's take a look at this interesting-looking putter.
The Nike Oz #3 is a mallet style heel-shafted putter. The putter has dual site lines, which is standard on the Oz putters. The face is milled and balanced. With the lightweight polymer, Nike effectively moved the weight to the perimeter for high MOI and stability.
Let's get down to brass tacks. Here's what I like: I like the smaller mallet head as they give me better feel. I love the alignment aid on the top of the clubhead. You will notice I always complain when they don't put a line on the mallets (which is very common).
Here's what I don't like: The look of this club at address is interesting. The black head with the green insert is an interesting combination. Maybe this is designed for you Irish folks. Instead of a line on top, they should've put on a green shamrock for alignment.
If you want to take a look at a couple of small mallet style putters that are a little less interesting looking, check out the Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie Putter and the Rife Island Series Barbados Heel Shafted Putter. These are a couple of my favorites.
As far as the Nike Oz #3, well like I said, it's very interesting.
