At the writing of this blog, the 2011 Masters just came to a close. It was the 75th annual Masters won by South African Charl Schwartzel in one of the most competitive Masters ever. If you're a golf geek like me, you didn't miss a day of the broadcast. (Hopefully you are not like me -- I'm pale, lonely, and putt golf balls across my carpet during the commercials. It's embarrassing.)
Some of the coolest things about this year were the highlights of that famed 1986 Masters that Jack won at the age of 46. Many of the spots featured a voice-over by Harry Connick Jr. It was really well done.
The '86 Masters is like golf's version of the Kennedy assassination. Everybody remembers where they were when they watched Jack assassinate Augusta National and especially the birdie at 16 where his son, who was on the bag, said "Be the right club." And Jack winked and said, "It is."
This hat is a nice commemorative hat that has Jack's signature embroidered on the side and his familiar Golden Bear log on the back. It's a limited edition -- they are only producing 1986.
