This golf course is near and dear to my heart because I used to work here, and I have spent many hours on the golf course and driving range. It's changed quite a bit since I worked here about ten years ago, and unfortunately not for the best. When I started, there weren't very many houses built, thus you had several unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains. Furthermore, I think they maintained the course a lot better in the old days. Finally, the greens fees were a little more reasonable.
Now that I've trashed the course that I practically grew up on, let me give you some of the pros. The driving range is awesome because you still have a beautiful view of the mountains as you hit balls from up on a hill.
The course is pretty challenging, starting out with a big dogleg left, par 5. The green is guarded by a creek, so you will have to lay up for a short approach shot. The sixth hole is a tough dogleg left around a lake, and the 7th is a tricked-up short hole that doesn't really fit the rest of the course.
I enjoy the back nine better then the front because of the dramatic change in elevations, starting uphill with a tough par 4 (#15). You continue uphill until the 18th tee box where you are perched atop a hill with an incredible view of the Rocky Mountain range and the rest of the golf course below in the valley.
For a course I enjoy more in the area, check out Legacy Ridge. This is one of my favorites! Although it is very challenging, it is beautifully maintained, and it comes pretty close to resembling a private country club.
