This course is my secret weapon on the weekends when my buddies and I have neglected to think ahead and get a tee time. Usually we walk on to Hyland Hills Blue Course and not have to wait too long to play this 9-hole regulation course. (Shhh, don't tell anybody!)
The course is not too difficult but a lot of fun. It's fairly short, but a few of the par 4s are pretty tight. The par 3s are very easy, requiring nothing more than a pitching wedge or a 9 iron. The greens are the toughest part of the course because they are fast and difficult to read.
I've had some of the best times on this course just playing as a twosome with my good friend Nick. It's typically a very relaxing, socializing round as opposed to one of those competitive "grind it out" rounds.
If you want a more challenging go of it, check out the Gold Course. It's a tough 18-hole regulation golf course. Or you can play either of the two Par 3 courses.
Finally, Hyland Hills has a big driving range that is lighted during the season until 9pm. They sell adult beverages in the small shack where you purchase your range balls.
