I'm seeing more and more golfers going to these big, square putter heads. Even on the PGA tour, I've seen more mallet-style putters. The draw, of course, is the high MOI -- which gives the putter a big sweet spot and reduces some of the side spin that comes from mishits.
This particular putter, the Hippo Hex, reminds me of a TaylorMade putter: the Rossa Monza Spider Putter (only the Hippo is less expensive). Both putters have a similar shape with the aforementioned huge MOI. They both have a very nice balance and feel. And they both have a face insert.
My favorite thing about the Hippo Hex are the alignment aids. It has three hexagons drawn on the top, very similar to the balls on the Odyssey Two-Ball Putter. However, I like the hexagons better then the golf balls, because they have straight lines that you can actually line up. The only two-ball Odyssey that I like (for this reason) is the Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball SRT Lined Putter.
