I live in Portland, OR, where we have two kinds of weather in the winter: Raining Hard, and Drizzle. An avid golfer like me needs everything to be waterproof right down to my underwear (which comes in handy for many reasons) and, of course, a trusty umbrella.
I'm not sure you're going to find a better one than this GustBuster. This bad boy has been tested at the College of Aeronautics in Queens, NY, and will not invert in winds of 55 miles per hour. It has been featured on CNN, GoodDay NY, Regis and Kathy Lee, and Talk Soup.
The coolest thing about it for us golfers is the fiberglass shaft. This is important for those rounds we play in the lighting. Sure, we still may be swinging our steel shafted irons, but at least our umbrella is fiberglass! I also like the classic looking hardwood J-handle.
The umbrella measures 48 inches in diameter and is 36 inches long. This is the manual version. It also comes in an automatic. Finally, it comes with a lifetime warranty, so I guess that means this is the last umbrella you're going to need to buy
