I would call this course a beginner course. It's very short, mostly flat and wide open. I like to take my friends that are just picking up the game to this course because it's very relaxed, and they don't feel a lot of pressure like they might on most golf courses.
Plus, it makes me feel like a pro because a lot of the par fours are drivable if you can get a hold of one. The back nine is a little bit tougher than the front and gives you a little preview of what you would be facing on the other course: The East Course.
Your round finishes with a par 3 on 18, which is a bit unique. From the 18th green, you get a good view of one of my favorite things about Glendoveer: their huge two-tiered covered driving range. This is a good thing to know about in the off-season when you are "jonesing" to swing the sticks.
I would recommend The West Course for the higher handicappers and The East Course for those of you that are really looking for a challenging, tight, hilly golf course.
