Garmin GolfLogix Digital GPS, Wireless This is an affordable golf GPS by Garmin compared to some of the leading brands. Garmin of course invented the GPS, and GolfLogix has designed a basic interface to give you yardages while you play your favorite course.

The first thing I will tell you is there is a $30 annual fee to download golf courses. This is typical of these GPS units. The uPro by Callaway is the only one I know of that doesn't require a subscription. You just pay $10 per course (the first download is free.)

The best thing about this unit, besides that it is reasonably priced, is it is very simple to use and user friendly. And it takes regular batteries, so you don't have to worry about recharging it.

However, I have heard some issues with this system eating up your batteries before you are finished with one round. Also, there have been some complaints with this machine freezing up, and finally the customer service for GolfLogix leaves a lot to be desired.

Albeit more expensive, I would recommend the Sky Caddie. You get what you pay for, and you won't be disappointed with Sky Caddie as it has a lot more bells and whistles and a much cooler display.
