I still carry a Nike Ignite driver in my bag, even though the club is six years old. I should know better -- six years is a lifetime when it comes to golf technology. I always advise everybody (but the guys in my foursome) to update their clubs ever couple of years.

One advantage to the incredible advancement in golf technology is that you can pick up little gems like this 9-wood for nothing more than the change you found in your couch cushions.

I really like this club for you slower swingers who aren't a big fan of swinging your long irons. This nine wood is much easier to swing. It has a very light graphite shaft with a ladies' flex.

The best thing about the club is the hot clubface. (This is why I still swing the driver.) The golf ball jumps off the face and goes very long.

For a little more money, I recommend you look at the Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood 09. This is a hybrid and is even easier to swing than the 9-wood.

It has one of those crazy geometrical shapes. I'd call it triangular. Now, why would anyone make a triangular fairway wood? Read on.

The idea of the triangular shape has two primary advantages:

1) Callaway can get more weight back in the rear of the club. This raises the MOI so that off-center hits don't cause the face to twist, which can lead to a lot of looking for lost golf balls in the woods.
2) The other advantage is that the clubhead is aerodynamic. The triangular shape lessons drag, allowing for more clubhead speed with less effort. This is good news no matter what level of golfer you are.

The shape reminds me of the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast, only it's not as drastic. The Superfast is even bigger.

The other cool thing about this FT-iZ fairway wood is the hot face. The designers have taken a stainless steel face and frame and merged it with a carbon-composite crown. Also, they added weight plugs in the toe, heel, and rear to balance the face and raise the MOI.

I recommend this fairway wood to all levels but especially mid to high handicappers. For you better golfers looking for a more traditional clubhead, check out the TaylorMade Lady R9 Fairway Wood.

These Diablo Edge Fairway woods are going to give you at least 10 more yards than the woods you're hitting now. This is not a marketing pitch -- it's my honest review. The reason for the extra distance is the hot face. It's an ultra-thin VFT face. This technology creates faster ball speeds with more consistent distances.

The other thing I like about these sticks is the high MOI. It has a four-piece modular design that moves the bulk of the weight to the back of the club. Every piece of the club is precision-formed and fused together to give this club an extremely high MOI and a low center of gravity.

The one thing I don't like about the woods is the sound. It makes a high pitched "TING" noise, which a bit obnoxious. Of course, I can get used to it if my ball is flying straight and reaches the par 5 in two.

The dual rail sole catches your eye right away. The idea is to get the club moving through the rough with the smallest amount of turf drag. This is big of course when you are trying to hit a shot out of heavy rough over a lake.

You should also notice that the face is very shallow. This also makes it easier to cut through the rough and is very pleasing to better golfers that like to work the ball with their fairway woods.

Finally, the face is very hot. It is made with a thin insert to improve ball speed. With the baffler rails, the shallow clubface, and the hot face, this makes this fairway wood a valuable weapon to add to your quiver.

I like this club, especially for mid to low handicappers. The club is very easy to swing and workable through the rough. For higher handicappers, I recommend the TaylorMade Lady Burner SuperFast Fairway Wood. This wood has a huge 200cc clubhead shaped like a jet plane.

In fact, this is the biggest clubhead on a 3 wood that I've seen. It is a monster 200CC clubhead that is shaped like the wing of a fighter jet. The idea is to make the club more aerodynamic and wind-resistant so that when you are wrapping it around your head and swinging out of your shoes, the club will slice through the air like an F18 chasing a bogey.

I like this 3-wood for higher handicappers and slower swingers that are looking for a forgiving clubhead and more clubhead speed. I think you will really like how it looks at setup. Set the big ol' jet wing behind the ball at address, and you should have lots of confidence that you are going to make contact, especially hitting it off of the tee.

The ladies will also really appreciate the super lightweight shaft. For those of you with slower swing speeds, this combined with the aerodynamic clubhead should give you more distance then you've ever had.

For those of you better golfers, I don't like this 3 wood for hitting the ball out of tight rough or trying to work the ball in a tight, tree-lined fairway. I would recommend the Lady R9 Fairway Wood because of the more traditional shape.

It took me a little longer than most people to get on the bandwagon of an adjustable clubface because I was a purist and thought "You fix your swing, not your club." But that was short-sighted because the pros have been getting clubs fitted to their swings for years.

To be more precise, I should say the hosel is adjustable, not the clubface. This TaylorMade Lady R9 Fairway wood's adjustable hosel allows you to change the lie and loft angle to eight different settings. It has FCT (Flight Control Technology), which will give you up to 36 yards of variance. For you high handicappers struggling with a slice, adjust the clubface more closed. As your swing improves, adjust it back to neutral.

Another great feature of this fairway wood for you ladies is the super-light 70-gram shaft with the High Inertia Tip. I really like this shaft for slower swing speeds because (obviously) of the light weight, but also because it promotes higher ball speeds that will get the ball flying higher and longer.

The Perfect Club hits great shots. The Perfect Club will cure cancer..." I remember they used to run these infomercials on this product on the Golf Channel. I swear the guy was getting paid by how many times he said "The Perfect Club." It looks like they've used the same tactic in the description on Amazon as well.

Just because they are using (maybe not so) clever marketing tactics doesn't necessarily make this a bad product. Let's take a gander:

Advertised as "the most versatile club ever made," The Perfect Club will replace your 7 wood and 3 or 4 iron. (Uh-oh, now I'm doing the repeating thing too. It's contagious.) This product is shorter in length than your 3 iron, but will fly further. It comes with a True Temper Steel Shaft or a UST Shaft in Graphite and classic crossline Lamkin grip or a Winn Grip on the ladies version.

Okay, let's get down to brass tacks. There's no such thing as a perfect golf club (except for maybe your putter when you're stroking the ball well and taking all of your buddies' cash.) The perfect club does do as advertised; it is easy to hit and makes it easier to get the ball airborne -- but so does a good hybrid.

If you want to keep from getting ribbed by your golf buddies, pass on The Perfect Club and check out the Nickent Golf 3DX RC Hybrid Iron. I don't choose The Perfect Club. The Perfect Club is not in my bag. The Perfect Club review is now over. Bub-bye Perfect Club.
