If your next round of golf calls for a cart, then the MacGregor MT Cart Bag might be just for you. The MacGregor MT Cart Bag is going to provide pretty much all the storage and features you'll need for playing that round on wheels. Whether you choose the Black/Green version or the Black/White, each features a 14-way club divider along with an external putter well. Unless your packing more than the 14 allowed clubs, this means there is dedicated space for every club in your bag. If you've ever struggled to get your clubs into one of those light -- but narrow -- carry bags, this feature is a welcome change.

There is also plenty of front-accessible storage in this bag with two full-length apparel pockets, a dry pocket, a velour-lined valuables pouch (I love this touch), a scorecard pocket, an insulated cooler pocket, three more zippered accessory pockets and two mesh pouches. I don't know about you, but to me, that is a lot of pockets. In order to make moving your bag on and off the cart easier, MacGregor has thoughtfully provided two heavy-duty hand grips at the top and the bottom. And for that inevitable carry from car to car, there is a wide, ergonomic strap that is easy on the shoulders. In a bag of this overall quality, MacGregor doesn't disappoint, adding durable, heavy-duty zipper pulls and a built-in towel ring, as well as a front-facing tee holder.

On the flip-side, if all you do is ride in a golf cart and are looking to stretch your legs, then take a look at the McGregor MT Stand Bag. With many of the same features as the MT Cart Bag, this is a carry version that still offers a lot of storage and features in a lightweight and ergonomic design. This bag features a seven-way top with full-length dividers (reduces grip friction and wear). There are also dual shoulder straps that are extra-wide and nicely padded for an even distribution of weight. If you've ever packed your bag for a full 18 holes, you'll appreciate that. While storage isn't as extensive as the MT Cart bag, it's still ample with one side featuring a dry pocket, the lined valuables pouch, and a large apparel pocket (probably large enough to hold your raingear and a spare shirt). The opposite side has another large accessories pocket, a quick-access pouch, an insulated water bottle sleeve, and a pen holder. Up front you'll find two more accessory pockets and a built in trunk-loading grip. This is a great feature, even on a carry-bag, and I've been glad to see many OEMs adding this touch to their bags. In addition, there is a heavy-duty front handle, golf ball holder, built-in towel clip, and even a rain hood. The stand mechanism is pretty simple and operates like most -- nothing fancy here, but it functions well. Colors are limited in this bag, the same as in the Cart version: Black/Green or Black/White.

Get beyond the external "couture" (French for "high fashion") design and you'll find a lot of great features. There are seven zippered pockets, all thoughtfully arranged for front access, and includes a fleece-lined valuables pocket. For club storage, Bennington has given you a 15-way top with full-length dividers (helps prevent shaft tangling and damage) and a putter scabbard. With an insulated drink pocket, this bag lets you keep your beverage cool and refreshing and, thanks to the front access, always within easy reach.

Designed for use with a cart, there are dual-lift side handles for easy lifting and maneuvering -- a good thing, as this bag is substantially heavy at 9 pounds with nary a club in it. Bennington has also added a ladies clutch purse to the package, so you'll be well coordinated on the course, at least with your purse and golf bag. For those that really want to customize their Bennington 2010 Lady Couture Cart Bag, there is a removable embroidery flap for personalization.

This stand bag from Bennington -- the 2011 Quiet Organizer -- has several well thought out features. At approximately 6 lbs., this bag is in the mid-range of all carry bags for weight. For that bit of extra weight, however, Bennington has built in some nice features, including full length club dividers -- this keeps the club shafts from tangling together, a common problem on older style bags. The club slots are well thought out also, with two slots for hybrid clubs and seven iron slots. There is even a "putter scabbard". These individually slotted areas have the added benefit of making a missing club easy to spot - and who hasn't left a wedge lying next a green somewhere? Seven pockets -- all with front access including a large one for rain gear, jacket, etc. -- provide quite a bit of storage space. One thing I especially like, and have seen on many recent bags, is the addition of a fleece-lined valuables pocket; great for your watch, ring, money clip, and the like. Finally, a drink bottle pocket, accessible while walking, rounds out the storage options.

There is a dual-strap system for easy carrying, and of course an automatic bag stand. If you occasionally take a cart, then the "Stand Guard" that keeps the legs from engaging while on a cart is a great feature.

I'm going to try really hard to not be judgmental and taint this blog with my "old school" opinions on walking, but I usually like to throw my bag over my shoulder and hump it around the golf course for 18 holes. Mark Twain wrote that golf is "A good walk spoiled" not "A good ride in the cart spoiled."

However, on occasion I have enjoyed loading up the golf cart with adult beverages and zipping from hole to hole with the wind blowing through my hair. And if I had a plaid shirt, or plaid trousers, I would certainly buy this golf bag to match.

The bag's loaded with features. It has individual slots with foam waterproof inserts for each club so they don't clang totogether. There are ten different pockets that are lined with fleece.

My favorite thing about the bag (besides that it matches those aforementioned plaid trousers) is that it has an insulated drink pocket. Using that, I'm pretty sure I could figure out how to make this bag pay for itself in less than ten rounds.

If Sherlock Holmes were a golfer, I think after much inspection, he'd appreciate this Ogio Wire Stand Bag. The bag is Ogio's lightest stand bag and is built for comfort. You have a choice of carrying this bag like a tour caddy, over one shoulder with one strap, or convert in easily into two backpack style straps.

It has a 7" Woode top for organizing all of your clubs and keeping them from banging together, and it has many pockets for all your balls, tees, and a rain suit.

I like how the pockets are all fleece-lined, and my favorite thing (besides the Sherlock Plaid) is the easily accessible water bottle holder. I can get to it even with the bag on my back.

If the Sherlock Plaid is not to your liking, the bag also comes in red, stealth, and camo. The camo is pretty wild too, I reckon.

Let's start with the durability. The Club Glove Aficionado IV's fabric is designed and constructed per military specs. I'm not joking! They've specifically adapted this material for Club Glove. (I guess this is for those Navy Seals turned golf pros.)

Although it is durable, it is extremely light. The Club Glove Aficionado, weighing less than five pounds, is easy to hoof around on your back. But this is before you pack it full of all of your junk. And there are plenty of pockets to do so.

It has a huge pocket for your rain suit, a mid-depth gear pocket, and a shallow pocket for those hard-to-grab tees and ball markers. There is a full-size ball pocket and a soft lined pouch for your valuables.

The best thing about the bag is the lumbar pad that hits your back in the right place to add a little bit of support. Plus it has removable shoulder mold pads. And, of course, a invaluable water bottle holder.

The big ol' beautiful bag was built specifically to go on the Sun Mountain's four-wheeled Micro Cart, but don't worry -- it will fit wonderfully in most push carts and all electric carts.

The bag is loaded with pouches. It has two full-length clothing pockets. (You might as well pack a change of clothes for the turn.) It has two velour-lined pockets for your valuables (I'm going to need to get some more valuables) and a ball pocket with a two-way zipper.

Ahh, but the best thing about this bag is the aforementioned insulated cooler pouch. I could make this bag pay for itself simply in Coors Light savings at the golf course. (Remember -- never drink and drive your golf ball into the group in front of you!)

This generic Golf Digest Travel Cover will do the trick, but it's not the nicest thing in the world.

The pros: It will hold that big driver. The cover is 51 inches in height. It is made out of heavy duty 600D material. The handle is soft and padded for your pleasure. And it has wheels to easily transport across the airport. Oh, and of course, the price. It's inexpensive, but then again -- you get what you pay for.

The cons: It's not real solid. It probably isn't going to hold up to well to those "extremely delicate" baggage handlers. It's ugly and it doesn't have a whole lot of extra room for anything else.

If this is a one-time thing, and you don't travel that much with your sticks, then this bag should suit you fine. But if you are a more seasoned traveler and you take the clubs with you everywhere, I would suggest you spend a little more money and buy a case with better quality.

Check out this Bag Boy T-1000 Travel Cover. It's much better looking, is built to last, and can hold a lot more than just your golf clubs.

And for my very favorite cover, please look at the Sun Mountain 2009 ClubGlider Meridian Golf Travel Cover. This thing is really cool, and even has pivoting wheels that keep the bag upright so you don't break your back bending over to pick it up.

(I'm not really sure what that means, but my mom used to say it just before she grounded me for being an accomplice to some wrongdoing that I did not orchestrate, but was surely an accomplice to.)

It's time you quit ignoring the golf landfill that is your trunk. Look at the bright side: once you do the work and get your trunk organized, you're going to find at least a half a dozen golf balls that you didn't even know you had. The last time I cleaned out my truck, I found one of my favorite green tools that came with my Scotty Cameron Putter.

This is a really practical item for all golfers, but especially those of you who travel a lot. Another great product for you travelers is the Sun Mountain 2009 ClubGlider Meridian Golf Travel Cover. This is a soft-sided, lightweight travel bag that has pivoting caster wheels that keep the bag upright so you don't break your back after repeatedly picking it up off of the ground.
