This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Denver area. It's pretty close to Denver International Airport, so I sometimes plan a round the morning of the day I fly out.
The course is a long, challenging, links-style course with large fairways and huge, undulating, multi-tiered greens. Make sure you get the pin placements before heading out, because just hitting the green is no guarantee of making a par. Imagine putting down the side of a water slide. This is what you might face if you don't do your homework.
In addition, get there early and practice your bunker shots in the large practice area provided by the first tee. There are several bunkers on the course but not a whole lot of water. The rough is a straw-like native that can grow waist high, thus you might want to bring a few extra golf balls.
Finally, I love to walk when I play, but this course wasn't exactly designed with us walkers in mind. If you aren't used to the mile-high altitude, you will definitely want to rent a cart.
Another course even closer to the airport is Green Valley Ranch Golf Course. This is a more traditional-style golf course that is a bit more forgiving. I especially like the practice facility and the Par 3 Course. You should check this place out If you don't have time for a full round before your flight.
